Mark Bruno Bieluczyk, 73, died unexpectedly on February 14, 2025, at Waterbury Hospital. His family and friends are deeply saddened by his sudden death. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean (née Buck); his children, Sophie and Anne, and his granddaughter, Luna.

Mark was born on December 5, 1951, in Danbury, CT. He attended Catholic schools in Danbury and graduated from Merrimack College in 1973. He then travelled in Europe, took classes about antique furniture, and returned to the States with his future sketched out. He and his future wife took a road trip to the Red Sox Spring Training Camp in Winter Haven, FL, where he met Ted Williams who was said to be a curmudgeon but softened under Jean’s influence to allow a photograph and a handshake with Mark. Shortly after that he married Jean in 1979.

Also, in 1979 Mark and Jean founded Antique Furniture Restoration, a fine antique furniture restoration and appraisal company. Over the years Mark restored millions of pieces of furniture for families, dealers, businesses, and museums, and provided appraisals for estates and furniture sales.

He was a voracious reader, a great storyteller, and a devoted golfer. He was a member of Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury where he made lifetime friends. He had a beautiful, graceful golf swing, and regularly played golf with his college buddies until shortly before his death. Mark loved music, classical, jazz, reggae, whatever, so long as it was good. He also loved dancing and showed his granddaughter his moves. He enjoyed going to the movies, watching birds in the backyard, and drinking Budweiser. He was a devoted Red Sox and UConn basketball fan. He was also a devoted yoga practitioner for the last 40 years at Woodbury Meditation and Yoga Center.

Mark was an amazing Daddy. He was always there for his girls, whether it was playing Red Light, Green Light in the backyard, donning fancy jewelry while playing Pretty, Pretty Princess, or purchasing the perfect piece of clothing for his daughters. Sophie and Anne will miss receiving voicemails that always started with; “This is your father who loves you.”

Luna will miss her morning reggae dance parties with her Pop Pop, sharing more than her share of his yogurt and bowl of cheerios and blueberries each morning, and hearing her “Hop Hop” Bunny speak to her while mysteriously peeking out of his sweater.

Mark charmed everyone he met. He stayed in touch with his childhood and college friends and made countless clients into friends.

It is fitting that a man full of love passed away on Valentine’s Day. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Memorial Fund.
