The public is invited to attend a free Sunday evening program on June 24th, “Drumming Circle: Bring Your Own or Borrow Ours” at 7:00 PM with David Miller. The program is followed by instructions in meditation and a group meditation.
"The drum is one of the most basic and ancient instruments; its rhythm is felt by each of us, connecting us to the world itself and all of consciousness, as it pulses and vibrates through time." In his talk, David discusses drumming and how rhythm affects us in our lives, the role it plays in our culture, and how it can affect our heath- physically, mentally, and spiritually.
This participatory program explores how rhythm affects us in our lives, the role it plays in our culture, and how it can affect our heath; physically, mentally, and spiritually. Play along with the drum circle, move along with it, or just listen as you connect with your own inner rhythm. A few drums will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own. No prior experience necessary - this event is open to all!
David Miller has been playing hand drum since the early 1990’s and studied traditional African Drumming and polyrhythm under a drum master for 8 years. He has been actively participating in, facilitating, and teaching drumming at area drum circles and festivals for the past 30 years.
David will also host an “Ancient Healing Rhythms Drumming Circle” on Thursday July 12th at 7 p.m. Cost is by meaningful donation, and pre-registration is recommended.
