A FREE public talk and meditation program with WMYC Director Janaki Pierson. The talk is followed by instructions in meditation and a group meditation.
According to the science of yoga, Prana is our vital life force, which is connected to our breath. Janaki explains the connection and introduces breathing techniques to help us control our prana, thus controlling our minds and energizing our bodies.
“Even when we are very sick, weak, or injured, we are still breathing. Practicing simple breathing techniques when we are unable to move may help us re-vitalize our bodies and minds, supporting the healing process,” Janaki suggests.
Ms. Pierson, co-founder and executive director of the Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center, presents seminars on Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Stress Management, Death and Dying/Life and Living, Elementary Sanskrit, and Thinking into Being: Creating Your Own Reality. Ms. Pierson has been teaching meditation for over 35 years and has been established in her own daily practice for over 40 years.
