A free public talk and meditation program with Emily Japs. The talk is followed by instructions in meditation and a group meditation.
There are many definitions of being “present”. Ms. Japs will discuss her interpretation of the term “present” to reveal its connection with an evolutionary and holistic process for healing.
Ms. Japs is a professional educator with a Master of Science in Education from the University of New Haven. Her experiences include teaching in public and private sectors to children and adults recovering from trauma and facing significant social-emotional challenges. First introduced to yoga nearly 20 years ago, her practice has evolved to include mindfulness and meditation. From a young age she has always had an interest in Native American studies, naturopathy and spirituality.
This complimentary program is open to everyone, and includes instruction and practice of meditation. WMYC is located at 122 West Side Road in Woodbury, CT. Everyone is welcome to come earlier, at 5:00 pm, for a complimentary sample yoga class.
