A program with WMYC Director Janaki Pierson. In her conversation, Janaki discusses the significance of recognizing the need for choosing to be at peace.
“As each of us struggles to accept challenging events or ideas in our lives, making the decision to really want to be at peace is very important,” she says. “While meditation and other tools from the discipline of yoga can make the process of being at peace easier to access, the choice is ultimately within each of us. “
This complimentary program is to open everyone, and includes instruction and practice of meditation.
For individuals interested in a more in-depth study of meditation, the fall Foundations of Meditation class at Woodbury Meditation and Yoga Center is meeting on Tuesday evenings beginning on September 12.
Ms. Pierson, co-founder and executive director of the Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center, presents seminars on Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Stress Management, Death and Dying/Life and Living, Elementary Sanskrit, and Thinking into Being: Creating Your Own Reality.
