Full Catastrophic Living: Mindfulness Basics

Jon Kabat-Zinn’s landmark work in the early 1990’s brought the study of mindfulness and meditation to the forefront of mainstream consciousness.  Ms. Rodrigue leads a discussion of how mindfulness can deepen the awareness of all of life’s experiences.

Robin Rodrigue is a Woodbury resident, recently retired from a 30-year career in banking.  Robin has studied Eastern philosophy for many years, and first became involved with the Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center (WMYC) in 2003 when she joined the Foundations of Meditation class.  She has been a caregiver for elderly relatives and has dealt with their end-of-life challenges for over 20 years.

This complimentary program is to open everyone, and includes instruction and practice of meditation. WMYC is located at 122 West Side Road in Woodbury, CT. Everyone is welcome to come earlier, at 5:00 pm, for a complimentary sample yoga class.

WMYC is a not-for-profit educational institution offering meditation, yoga, tai chi/qigong and a variety of programs weekly, as well as complimentary Sunday evening events including meditation instruction.  WMYC welcomes individuals to try a class for free and see first-hand how yoga changes lives. The Center welcomes cancer patients/survivors, caregivers, veterans and others in need of assistance, and offers free or reduced-cost classes.
