At Home or School: Yoga & Mindfulness for Kids

Join us for a free public program with educator and yoga instructor Alisa Wissell.

As a classroom teacher, mom and yoga instructor, Alisa Wissell is passionate about how yoga and mindfulness skills can make a positive impact in kids' physical, emotional, and academic health. Educators, parents, and anyone touching the lives of children are welcome to join an interactive discussion about weaving yoga and mindfulness tools during the school day and at home to help kids cope with daily challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. In turn, this can create a ripple effect that will help build children's self esteem, love for self and others.

Alisa Wissell received her 200-hour teacher training through Yoga Alliance, and is also certified to teach children’s yoga and mindfulness through ChildLight Yoga. An NYS Certified Teacher with a Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy, Alisa founded One Love Yoga and One Love Kids Yoga to nurture adults’ and children’s mind, body and spirit. Alisa’s yoga journey began at Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center, and she is thrilled to return to the Center to teach and present programs such as this.

This complimentary program is to open everyone, and includes instruction and practice of meditation. The Woodbury Yoga and Meditation Center (WMYC) is located at 122 West Side Road in Woodbury, CT. Everyone is invited to come earlier at 5:00 pm for a complimentary sample yoga class.

WMYC is a not-for-profit educational institution offering meditation, yoga, tai chi/qigong and a variety of programs weekly, as well as complimentary Sunday evening events including meditation instruction.
