Finding New Year Strategies in Ancient Western Spirituality

A free public talk and meditation program with David Miller. The program includes instructions in meditation and a group meditation.

Hermetic theory is a collection of Greco-Egyptian concepts that form the basis for most Western spiritual thought.  David highlights some of the seven basic Hermetic principles, making connections to Eastern spirituality and yoga, and provides tips to incorporate these philosophies into daily life for a more grounded, content and peaceful mindset as we approach the New Year.

Speaker David Miller has been a part of the WMYC community for more than two years participating in many of the Center’s classes and programs, including meditation, yoga, Sanskrit and the Sunday evening program series. David meditates daily, and studies and teaches religion, philosophy, African drumming and other esoteric subjects.

This complimentary program is open to everyone, and includes instruction and practice of meditation.  Everyone is invited to come earlier, at 5:00 pm for a complimentary sample yoga class. The Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center (WMYC) is located at 122 West Side Road in Woodbury, CT.

WMYC is a not-for-profit educational institution offering meditation, yoga, tai chi/qigong and a variety of programs weekly, as well as complimentary Sunday evening events including meditation instruction.  WMYC welcomes individuals to try a class for free and see first-hand how yoga changes lives.
