A free public talk and meditation program with WMYC Director Janaki Pierson. The talk is followed by instructions in meditation and a group meditation.
Recognizing that the full potential of each person is to be joyful, calm and compassionate under all circumstances, the science of yoga provides practical tools to help individuals experience this. In her talk on Yoga 101, Janaki provides several basic steps anyone can incorporate into daily life to experience more calmness, kindness and contentment in each moment.
“Inner peace is world peace,” Janaki says, “we can each contribute to a more peaceful loving world by first accessing these qualities within ourselves through the science of yoga.”
Ms. Pierson, co-founder and executive director of the Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center (WMYC), presents seminars on Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Stress Management, Death and Dying/Life and Living, Elementary Sanskrit, and Thinking into Being: Creating Your Own Reality.
