A free public talk with Janet Von Talge. The talk is followed by instructions in meditation and a group meditation.
Ms. Von Talge takes a closer look through the lens of Buddhism at the practices of detachment and compassion. Offering guidance on cultivating these qualities within ourselves, she suggests we may begin a chain reaction sequence, igniting greater impartiality, even-mindedness and empathy for ourselves and those around us.
Mrs. Von Talge has been practicing Buddhist meditation for 20 years. She is ordained in the Triratna Buddhist order, where she also teaches. She also practices with the Tibetan-based Natural Dharma Fellowship. Mrs. Von Talge is retired from a 45-year career as a Registered Nurse. Her spiritual focus is compassion and death and dying.
