A free public talk with WMYC Director Janaki Pierson.
The public is invited to attend a free Sunday evening program on October 1, “Choosing Peace: What Are the Obstacles?” at 7:00 PM with Janaki Pierson.
“As each of us struggles to accept challenging events or ideas in our lives, making the decision to really want to be at peace is very important,” she says. “While meditation and other tools from the discipline of yoga can make the process of being at peace easier to access, the choice is ultimately within each of us.”
Janaki invites participants to ask themselves what is gained by not choosing peace, and discusses methods from the yogic system to ensure a future with easier access to a calm mind and genuine inner peace.
Ms. Pierson, co-founder and executive director of the Woodbury Meditation & Yoga Center, presents seminars on Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Stress Management, Death and Dying/Life and Living, Elementary Sanskrit, and Thinking into Being: Creating Your Own Reality. Ms. Pierson has been teaching meditation for over 35 years and has been established in her own daily practice for over 40 years.
